For this year’s project, it all started with a bold intuition. An intuition coming from the observation of sand reacting to screen displays. Together, they behave in an intriguing way, both relatable yet offputting. Our intuition was that both create an association that conveys an ‘archeology of the future’ feel, just like a digital cave painting would. An empirical way of blurring the line between what’s real and what’s not. It brought up a lot of concepts in our minds: landscapes, vestiges, archeology, mirages…
